The Bulldog Run

On May 19, 2012, the PCC Alumni Association is sponsoring 3 race events to benefit scholarships and educational activities. With a 5K Run starting at 9am, 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk starting shortly after, and a Kids Dash at around 9:45, everyone can join the fun! All participants are invited to join our post-race party and awards ceremony with great prizes and refreshments.

This course on Pitt Community College campus is a USATF-certified course and proceeds will benefit student scholarships and educational activities. There will also be some kids activities too. So be part of PCC history. Come run with the DAWGS!

Participants may pre-register or register on race day. All pre-registered participants are guaranteed a t-shirt. Late registration participants will be given shirts until we run out. Registration fees are $20 for the 5k Run, $10 for the 1 Mile Fun/Run Walk, and $5 for the Kids Dash. After May 3 registration fees will increase for all races.

  • Race-day registration open from 7:30-8:30am
  • 5K Run begins at 9am
  • 1 Mile Fun Run / Walk begins immediately after the 5K Run.
  • Kids Dash (10-under) begins around 9:45am

  • Races run through the Pitt Community College Campus, Winterville, NC
  • All races are on flat pavement
  • 5K Run is USATF-certified

Registration

  • Register online online or in person
  • 5K Run fees: $20 before May 6; $25 on May 6 through race day
  • 1 Mile Fun Run / Walk fees: $10 before May 6; $15 on May 6 through race day
  • Kids Dash (10-under): $5 before May 6; $10 on May 6 through race day
  • T-shirts are only guaranteed to those that pre-register

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male & female overall winners and to the top 3 male and female winners in each age group.

Kids Activities

Children 10 and under may participate in the Kids Dash and the activity stations that will be provided.

Prizes

Prizes will be supplied by local businesses.

Timing & results

Chip scoring provided by Run the East. All runners must wear chip at all times and return at the end of the race. All runners who do not return chip will be assessed a $5 fee.

Safety issues

  • For the safety of all the runners and fun run participants, we must prohibit:
    • bicycles
    • roller skates
    • rollerblades
    • all other wheeled vehicles (except wheelchairs)
  • We also consider the use of headphones in running events to be a safety hazard, and we advise that headphones/earbuds not be worn during the Bulldog Run.
  • Pets are not permitted.
  • Individuals under 18 need authorization of parent/guardian.
